What was supposed to be a fun and exciting day...

Well, today is Briahna's 4th Birthday! Where did the years go? She is just growing up way too fast!!
So this morning we were supposed to get up and pick up Amos from the airprot at 10:30, grab lunch and then head to swimming lessons at 1. After that we were to do naps and then a birthday party tonight.....well.....
At 5am this morning I got a call from Amos that he was stuck on the side of the road in Alabama with a blown transission! EEK! He had a 6:20 flight to catch!! I became very grateful that we just purchased AAA last month and reminded him to pull out his card and call a tow truck. We literally took this situation one step at a time! What else could we do? So he waited for over an hour before a truck came. They towed the Blazer back to Amos' house. By now Amos' flight is long gone and I am worked up at home wondering what we were going to do. We had called the airlines and found out that he could get on standby for a $50 fee. The trouble was getting back to the airport, 160 miles away. So anyways, a friend of his was super nice and drove him back and now he sits, with a boarding pass in hand, waiting on his flight. He won't make it back in time for Briahna's birthday party but unfortunately him being gone has become the norm for us at the moment. The girls and I don't know much different. We are very glad that if everything else runs smoothly, he will be here later tonight! We are super thankful that a couple from our church got word of our situation and offered to pick Amos up from the airport so we wouldn't have to worry about getting him here while hosting a birthday party.
So after one crazy morning and more times on my phone than I can count, we have settled down and are now gearing up for a birthday bash! Will post pics soon!
